Branded exteriors

Creating a welcoming and engaging environment is part of the overall experience for your customers. The branded exterior creates a first impression. It’s important that it’s recognisable as your brand, cohesive with all other elements, and makes your customers stop, look, and feel a certain way. Investing in a striking branded exterior is essential for attracting foot traffic and conveying your core values at first glance.

When designing branded exteriors there are a few key considerations:

Practical considerations

We consider the customer journey. Which direction do they tend to arrive from? Can they see the signage from that first view-point? Are there neighbouring shops we need to consider that are competing for attention?

Brand tone

As well as the visual branded exterior looking good, we have to consider the brand as a whole and what it offers an audience. Are they a bold and daring brand that want to entice customers with energy, or are they a calming, nurturing brand telling customers they will welcome them in and take good care of them? All aspects of the brand personality and tone must be considered to ensure the customer experience is consistent at all points of the journey. This is why the brand strategy is so important to complete and have a full understanding of, as it influences all other areas of branding.

This seamless alignment between environment and brand personality enhances the overall customer experience, as clients are likely to feel more comfortable and welcomed.

Visual style

We must be practical, we must be cohesive, but we also like to look great and professional, and stand out amongst others for quality and style.

Exterior branding case study example

Bodyset

I helped Bodyset from the beginning of their rebrand from ‘Capital Physio’ to ‘Bodyset’, and continued working with them through their evolution since then. As well as the overall look and feel and the logo, I helped with the first Bodyset clinic frontage, which set the precedent for all other clinics. It was key to highlight the services they offered as many would not have known the name Bodyset. The design was to offer a welcoming space, with outdoor room also to potentially include plants and seating in the warmer months.

Ultimately the branded exterior is the first physical experience your customer has of your brand. It’s so important that it reflects your brand and supports the wellness journey of your clients.
