Full branding package

I worked with this family run B&B in the South of France to help them realise and reach their long and short-term business goals. I discovered their passions and experienced their retreat first-hand, in order to prepare a full brand plan. 

Roam & Retreat are a family run B&B in the South of France in the beautiful unspoilt Ariege region. They have a passion for wildlife, nature and history, so visitors get more than they bargained for when they visit. Richard loves to share his knowledge with them and takes them on memorable walks and experiences.

One of the key elements to get across in the brand is their belief in seeking wellness through nature, allowing people an escape and opportunity to heal.

QUEST AND PURPOSE

To inspire people to spend more time outdoors, appreciating what it has to offer and reaping the benefits of the natural world. 

I conducted our insight session virtually. Although in person meeting are preferred, we can still have success online when it’s not possible to travel. I took the time to really understand Richard’s, Roam & Retreats founder, character and key values, and we worked through some exercises together. Following this I presented the strategy document which presented various brand statements, future plans, personality and style and name ideas. 

Roam

“A quiet or secluded place in which one can rest and relax”.

Following the strategy phase we went on to look at the visual feel for the brand. A good way to start is with Brandscapes, which allow us to quickly get a vibe and have the client approve a direction before moving on. They are created using rough and existing assets, quickly manipulated to create an overall visual impression, as well as a first look at colour, typography and logo styles. Although each has a different style and feel, they are all born from the strategy phase of the brand. Roam and Retreat had a preference to further explore the third. He felt this best represented his vibrant personality, but still celebrates all things natural. We did not want to be too stereotypical with a rustic natural style.
